Composition:
- Acetyl spiramycin:100 mg is equivalent to 100.000 ui.
- Metronidazole:125mg.
Excipient: glucose, starch, talcum. magnesi stearat, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, hydroxyl propylmethyl cellulose cps, polyethylenglycol 6000, titan dioxid, microcrystal cellulose, sodium starch glyconate, red iron oxid, erythroxin lake qs.1 tablet.
Pharmaceutical form: film coated tablet.
Presentation: box of 2 blisters x 10 tablets.
Indications: Gerdogyl is combination of metronidazole and spiramycin, is intended for treatment of:
- Buccodental infections: Acute and chronic infection, re-infetion, including: dental abcessces, phlegmon, infection of salivary glands, pyorrheo, gingivilis, infection of parotid gland, infection of lower and upper jaw, infectio of stump…….
- Preventive streatment of local infection after stomatological and dental surgery.
Contra-Indications:
- Known hipersensitively to any component of Gerdogyl.
- Childrent under 6 year olds, due to unsuitable pharmaceutiacal form.
Precaution:
- Discontinue treatment in case of dizziness, in-coordinattion, metal confusions.
- Aviod ingestion of alcoholic beverage and alcoholic containing drugs during the treatment to prevent possile sickness.
Pregnancy-lactation:
Pregnacy:
Do not use Gerdogyl in the first trimester of pregnancy eventhough spiramycin has not been found to cause birth defects or other problems in human and there are no clears indication of leratogenic effects.
Lactation:
Active irrgredients into drug (metronidazole, spiramycin) pass into breast milk quickly, its better to stop breast-feeding when use Gerdogyl.
Effect on ability to drive and operate machines:
Reports of drug have not been eadequate, however you should be careful when driving or operating machines.
Drug interactions:
In order to avoid interactions with others drugs, you should consider when combining simultaneously Gerdogyl with some drugs ( disulfiram, alcohol anfd anticoagulants (warfarin) and lithium containing drugs.
Dosage:
- Children from 10 to 15 years of ages: 3 tablet/day into 2 or 3 dividened doses.
- Childrent from 6 to 10 years of age: 2 tablets/day into 2 or 3 dividened doses.
Administration:
Gerdogyl is administrated by oral route with meal.
Able side effect:
- Digestive trouble: stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, acute colotis (rarely)
- Skin: rash, itching, quink oedema (type of ulticaria, with abrupt swelling)
- The whole body: allergic reactions, sut infection because of long time usage of spiramycin.
- Others: rare cases of headache, dizziness, confusions, convulsion.
- Reddisd brown colorations of urine due to the precence of water soluble pigment denved from the metabolism òf the medicine. Alter perception of sasation
which has always diminished on stopping treatment.
Shelf-life: 36 months from the date of manufaturing.
Storage: store in cool and dry place below 28 ºc, protect from direct light.
