Indication:
Conflumine capsule is indicated in treatment of colds, runny nose, nasal congestion, Weather allergies, fever, headache, myalgia and arthralgia.
Contraindication:
Patient who is sensitive to the composition
Patient infected with anemia, heart,lung and kidney disease, lack of G6PD, in acute asthma, prostatomegaly, narrow angle glocome, blocking bladder neck, blocking of pylorus, duodenum
Breastfeeding
Patient using IMAO for 14 days
Side effect
For anti-histamine H1: Xerostomia, regulating disorder, anility of the old or cheromania of children, sleepy, dizzy, nausea.
For anticholinergic of clorpheniramin: Xerostomia, constipation, urine retention, mydriasis,...
For paracetamol: Erythema, urticaria, high dosage for long time may cause impact on liver, reduction of blood cell, glomerule, anemia.
Keep your doctor informed of the undesired effects occurred when using the drug.
Interactions:
*) For Paracetamol:
- Drug against convulsion, isoniazid and wine can increase the toxicity to the liver
- Reduce the absorption of cholestyramin, increase the effect of metoclopramid.
*) For anti-histamine H1:
- Wine or tranquillizer can increase the inhibitory on central nerve system of clorpheniramin.
- The drug inhibiting monamino oxidase (IMAO) lengthen and increase the effect of preventing the emission of acetl cholin of clorpheniramin.
- Clorpheniramin increases the toxicity of phenotoin.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Administration to pregnancy in case of necessary only. This drug should not be used during the first trimester and final trimester of pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Overdosage
Fatal dosage of clorpheniramin maleat is about 20 – 25mg/kg body weight. The symptoms of over-dosage includes tranquillizing, epilepsy, suspension of breathing, convulsion, preventing the emission of acetyl cholin, tonicity disorder and cardiac collapse, arrhythmia. Treatment and support: Washing the stomach or vomit induction by ipecacuanha syrup. Then administrate with activated carbon and ethics. Reduce the convulsion by vein injection or phynytoin. Blood transfusion if needed.
Paracetamol: If overdose it may cause nausea, anorexia, pale, and sometimes have belly ache within initial 24 hours. Over dosage may happen from 10 gam dosage (150mg/kg body weight in children) and it can disintegrate liver cell completely and leading to unconsciousness, death and at the same time it increase the liver transaminase, lactat dehydrogenase and bilirubin and increase the prothrombin may happen within 12 – 48 hours after usage.
Caution
Machine, vehicle operator as the drug can cause sleepiness.
For long time administration, kidney function should be followed.
